NEET UG counselling 2025 Update; Registration Process
The NEET counseling process will be conducted by MCC in online mode, except for the last round, which is the institute reporting process, whereby candidates have to be physically present at the allocated institute for document verification and complete the admission process. There will be approximately five to six rounds of NEET 2025 counselling, and the rounds may be extended depending on the number of vacant seats.

- Step 1: Visit the official website: mcc.nic.in
- Step 2: Click on the “UG Medical Counselling” section
- Step 3: Register or log in using NEET UG credentials
- Step 4: Complete the application form and pay the processing fee
- Step 5: Upload necessary documents (NEET scorecard, photo ID, category certificate, etc.)
- Step 6: Fill and lock your choices of colleges and courses
- Step 7: Download the confirmation page for future reference
Documents Required NEET UG counselling 2025
- NEET 2025 Admit Card and Rank/Scorecard
- Class 10 and 12 Mark Sheets and Passing Certificates
- Government-issued Photo ID (Aadhar Card, PAN Card, etc.)
- Passport-size Photographs (as per specifications)
- Caste/Category Certificate (if applicable – OBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwD, etc.)
- Domicile Certificate (for state quota counselling)
- Disability Certificate (if applying under PwD quota)
- Other: Sponsorship and relationship affidavits, as needed for specific quotas
The NTA has specified a specific format for different documents to be uploaded in the NEET online portal. For example, the document format for the photo is either JPG or JPEG. Documentation uploaded in a format than the one specified by the NTA will not be accepted. The format required for each document for the NEET UG 2025 counseling is given above.
Types of NEET UG Counselling 2025
- All India Quota (AIQ) Counselling – 15% of seats (Central, Deemed, AIIMS, JIPMER, AFMC, ESIC)
- State Quota Counselling – 85% of seats in every state (apply at state-specific counselling portals)
- Deemed & Central Universities Counselling
- Private Medical College Counselling
Each type has separate portals and registration deadlines. Candidates may participate in both AIQ and their state quota counseling processes if qualified.
Reservation of AIQ Seats in NEET UG counselling 2025
The Government of India has implemented 27 percent OBC reservation (Non-Creamy Layer) and 10 percent EWS reservation in 15 percent Under Graduate (UG) All India Quota seats (MBBS/BDS) (contributed by the State/UTs to the Central Pool) in the selection of candidates through NEET UG counseling for MBBS.

NEET UG counselling 2025 Fees & Refund Policy
- The security deposit is returned if you do not take a seat during counseling or after joining as per rules.
- If allocated a seat and not joining/rescinding after allotted round, you may forfeit the security deposit. Always check latest MCC and state reimbursement policies.

NEET 2025 Counselling Round 1 Registration Begins
- Candidates have to follow the steps given below to register for NEET 2025 counseling round 1.

- Click on the ‘New Registration 2025’ tab
- Read the instructions
- Enter the mandatory details such as NEET UG roll number, parents’ name, date of birth and security code
- Select the password
- The credentials will be generated and sent to the registered email address
- Complete the registration form by entering personal, educational, NEET 2024 result and other details and uploading a scanned photograph and signature
- Pay the registration fee and take a printout of the registration confirmation page
